The more the merrier is Nove Voce's attitude when it comes to inviting people to watch How The Grinch Stole Christmas at the Civic Centre, Room 208, on Nov. 26.

Whosoever wants to see the fun unfold in Whoville will find a seat at one of four shows that day.

"For me personally, How the Grinch Stole Christmas is something I watch and read every year," said director of Nove Voce Choral Society, Robin Norman. "I still love it. It makes my heart happy and it's such a great message about Christmas - and it's Dr. Seuss and it's fabulous."

Ken Kilcullen will be reading the original story while the choir performs the songs from the cartoon and movie.

The 14-member choir will take on double duty to fill all roles in the play.

Zarrah Holvick, who teaches how to act while wearing masks, is playing the Grinch.

"Having her be the Grinch works out quite beautifully," said Norman. "She's just perfect for the role."

When playing a character like the Grinch an actor uses a different performance style using the body to emphasize everything to a greater degree, Norman explained.

Nove Voce sings Welcome Christmas, You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch, Where Are You Christmas and it all fits into the story as Kilcullen reads, she added.

Audience members will catch a glimpse of a Who House as children are invited to sit on rugs in front of Kilcullen as he narrates the tale of the Grinch, whose heart is two sizes too small.

"We were looking for something a little bit simpler and a bit shorter and specifically for kids," said Norman. "This show ends up being about 30 minutes and how perfect is that?"

There are four show times on Nov. 26, 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 2:15 and 3:30. All shows are upstairs at the Prince George Civic Centre in Room 208. All tickets are $5 at the door.

This promises to be a delightful Christmas activity for who's young and old.
