One of the world's best known nature and wildlife artists will be in Prince George for a book signing Monday from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the grand opening of Direct Art at 1650 Queensway.

Robert Bateman will be giving a talk and signing his latest book Bateman: New Works.

"Some people say it's my best book yet," said Bateman. "Every five years or so (since his first book published in 1981), another book came out and the company (Madison Press Books) went under new management and another five years went by, six years no book, seven years no book, eight years and I said when are we going to have a new book and they said maybe we'll do a retrospective and I said listen you'll do a retrospective when I get old and I will let you know when I get old. I didn't want one of these Willie Nelson's greatest hits type of things. I'm only 80 now and I'm not old yet but I hope to get old some day of course."
