at Two Rivers Gallery.

This free event is presented in partnership by Two Rivers Gallery and the University of Northern B.C.

Art and medicine are often thought of as two very disparate worlds yet the connection can be found everywhere. The panel will discuss what role creativity plays in developing and maintaining healthy communities by sharing their own unique experiences.

Expert panelists include Dr. Tammy Attia, family physician; Dr. Carol-Ann Cournaye, associate professor in the faculty of medicine, UBC; Hilary McGregor, masters candidate in community health sciences at UNBC; Dr. Margot Parkes, Canadian research chair in health ecosystems and society at UNBC and Peter von Tiesenhausen, professional artist. Moderating the event is Dr. Sarah de Leeuw, assistant professor in the northern medical program.

"The CIHR Caf series aims to bring academic discussion out of the universities and into the community," said Carolyn Holmes, Two Rivers public programs manager. "Everyone is welcome and I am sure all those who attend will be thoroughly interested by the diverse ideas that emerge throughout the evening."

The talk begins at 7:30 p.m. at Two Rivers Gallery, 725 Civic Plaza. For more information call 250-614-7800 or visit www.tworiversgallery.ca.
