A Fraser Lake teen took top spot during the second season of YTV's Next Star and she's ready for the next step.

Fans will get a glimpse at what Tianda Flegel's been up to since the end of the show during the premiere Where Is She Now? April 9 at 8:30 p.m. when they'll hear her first single Liar, Liar.

After the show Flegel, now 16, returned to Fraser Lake to attend school and she said she's been working really hard on her studies.

"I recorded two more songs and shot a music video last summer, which is really cool," said Flegel.

The process in which Flegel makes music has not changed that much.

"I still write about the same things and I still play guitar and do everything kind of the same except when I'm in studio and I have help from producers and songwriters," said Flegel. "But when I'm writing on my own it's really the same."

Flegel said she's going to be just like any other Next Star fan and watch Where Is She Now? at home with her friends.

Flegel has some tips for would-be auditioners for next season's show.

"Definitely do as much as you can to stand out," Flegel advised. "A lot of kids audition so you have to be unique. Dress in something comfortable that shows your personality and make sure you sing a song that's good for your voice. That's probably the most important part."

For more information Flegel has a video on her youtube channel, or on Next Star's website or Next Star's fan page on Facebook.

Flegel sees a lot more music in her future and said after she graduates high school she will put all her efforts into that.
