Miss Teen Prince George-World 2013 Karli Rahlston is hosting an event at the Coast Inn Saturday at 6 p.m. to raise funds for the competition she will attend in Toronto in July. The events includes cocktails and dinner, entertainment, silent and live auctions. Tickets are $30 per person at the Coast Inn of the North.

Dominion Day at Huble Homestead is Monday July 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Celebrate Canada's birthday the old fashioned way at Huble Homestead Historic Site. There will be heritage demonstrations like ice cream and butter making, enter the old-fashioned contests, and join in on pioneer games like the egg toss. There are prizes, complimentary birthday cake, and entertainment for the entire family. Huble Homestead Historic Site is located 40km north of Prince George, just off Highway 97 on Mitchell Road. Admission is by donation.

23rd annual BMO KidzArt Dayz are at Two Rivers Gallery Friday, July 5 and Saturday July 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The gallery and the civic plaza will be transformed into the community's art studio for two days, rain or shine. BMO KidzArt Dayz provides free access to creativity through fun and adventurous art activities. Families, daycare groups, and summer camps are invited to get messy and experiment with painting, colour, sculpture, jewelry and crazy hats.

Gorden James - that's right with an e! - who was born and raised in Prince George and featured on Country Music Television's Big in a Small Town, is a country music artist who will take to the Treasure Cove Show lounge stage July 6 to entertain his home town. Tickets are at the Treasure Cove customer service desk for $20 each.
