Kids' Carnival is at Huble Homestead Historic Site Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event is for the kids, and the kids at heart. Enjoy carnival games, puppet shows, face painting, pioneer games and activities, crafts, magic shows, and entertainment. The site is located 40 km north of Prince George, just off Highway 97 on Mitchell Road. Admission is by donation. For more information visit www.hublehomestead.ca.

Prince George Idol 2013 finals go Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at UNBC's Canfor Theatre. The finals will see eight contestants compete for the four top spots to win major prizes. Tickets are $12 or $10 for a group of 10 or more, at Studio 2880 by calling 250-563-2880.

The Historic Downtown Walking Tour, presented by the Prince George Public Library, goes every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11 a.m. to noon. The tour covers points of historical interest, including stories about the quirky locals, as well as public art highlights. Tours are free and leave from the front desk of the Bob Harkins branch.

Friends of Thomas Days at the Central Interior Railway & Forestry Museum goes today to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Thomas the Tank Engine and the rest of the train characters can be seen during the three-day event. There will be a pancake breakfast from 10 to 11 to start things off right and then there's mini-rail rides, games, face painting, water fun as well as a barbecue lunch. Regular admission is $6 for adults, $3 for children, mini-rail ride $2.50 and members get in half price.

Fortis BC presents Fresh Air Films at the band shell in Fort George Park for free. View The Croods on Wednesday, July 24 with pre-movie activities starting at 7:45 and show starting at dusk - about 9:45 p.m. and on Friday August 16 Epic will be playing at about 9 p.m. Bring a lawn chair or blanket.
