Author Julie Fowler will be in Cafe Voltaire on Saturday 7:30 p.m. to present her new book, The Grande Dames of the Cariboo, a tale of discovering Viven Cowan and Sonia Cornwall. Fowler is the executive director of Island Mountain Arts in Wells, where she created the ArtsWells Festival of All Things Art.
Oak & Thistle presents Exit Glow at Ohh Chocolat Cafe tonight at 8 p.m. The group will perform rock folk and pop originals and covers while adding flute for a new feel to popular music. Tickets are $8 in advance, $12 at the door and can be purchased at Ohh Chocolat Cafe.

The tenth annual CNC Doggie Fashion Show goes Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Gathering Place. Owners and dogs will compete in a variety of categories: best in show, most original, best human doggie coordination, best doggie personality and people's choice award. All proceeds go towards the Prince George SPCA.
