Friday Night Mics features Dennis Strausfogel in Cafe Voltaire tonight as he plays folsky-blues with acoustic guitar and vocals. Doing mostly covers, he will perform at 8 p.m. As always, the show is free.

Ed Zaruk's Writing Workshops take place Saturday, Feb. 1 and 8 at Art Space, above Books & CO., 1685 Third Ave. The first workshop is a fiction writing workshop, while Feb. 8 workshop is a non-fiction writing workshop.
