A New Year Multicultural Dance is happening Saturday at Art Space, above Books & Co., 1685 Third Avenue. Ring in the New Year with African, Latino, Soca and hip hop music. Dinner is 8 to 9:30 p.m. and the dancing starts right after dinner. Tickets are $30 at Books & Co.
For nature lovers, New Year's Day Social at Forests for the World, hosted by Sons of Norway Ski Club, happens Sunday from noon to 2 p.m. Includes a wiener roast around a campfire at the picnic area at Shane Lake. And for all you crazy Canucks, the 11th annual Polar Bear Dip challenge takes place Sunday at 2:30 p.m., check in at 2 p.m. at Welcome Centre at Ness Lake Bible Camp, 23705 Chief Lake Rd. Free Polar Bear T-shirts for the first 50 participants. Costumes are optional but encouraged. To celebrate 11 years of Dipping, there are great prizes for top fundraisers and best costume including Central Builders $200 gift card, as well as prizes from Northern Hardware, Boston Pizza, McDonald's, Ric's Grill and The Sandman Hotel.
