The biggest street party of the year is only hours away.

Summerfest 2015 brings out the love for downtown, when thousands of people meander the energized streets of the city's heart.

This year is even more kinetic than usual, since it is the 100th birthday of Prince George. It is the grandest part of "centennial homecoming week" and many new sights and sounds will fill the air. It is a one-day Sunday party that, thanks to the 100th birthday, goes late into the evening and ends with fireworks.

Summerfest begins at 11 a.m. with the usual favourites: the Kids Zone, the Legendary Taste Pavilion, and the mainstage lineup of entertainers. The daytime billing includes:

11:30: James Johnson, The Bigger Balloon Guy

12:15: "Life in Miniature" - time-lapse film of Prince George

12:30: Limelight Quest - winning contestant's performance

1: Tympana Percussion Society - a world of drumming

2: The cast of Judy Russell's "Sound of Music" medley

2:30: Pitakake Hula & Tahitian Dancers (Veterans Plaza)

2:45: Circadian Rhythms

3:30: Aurora Dance Company (Veterans Plaza)

3:45: The Killbillies

After a short break, a lineup of evening performances takes the Sunday event up to the skyblast at the end.

8: Limelight Quest's winning contestant

8:30: Bright City Heights

9:30: Sound Addiction

10:30: Centennial Week Wrap-up Fireworks from Connaught Hill
