Storyteller comedian Damonde Tschritter offers sage advice during a two-night gig at Nancy O's Feb. 16 and 17.

How to steer a moose downstream and how to douse a house fire as a conflicted volunteer firefighter are hilarious topics featured in his act.

The writer, actor, director and comedian reports on incidences in his life with a comedic timing that lends itself to plenty of laughs.

Two years ago, Tschritter took to Nancy O's stage, with a picture window behind him and 75 people in front of him.

Finding it an unusual setting, the comedian made spur of the moment commentary about downtown Prince George proving improvisational rhetoric is alive and well.

Tschritter credits includes CTV's Comedy Now, three appearances on CBC's Madly Off In All Directions, Just For Laughs, Chicago Comedy Festival, New York Comedy Festival, HBO's USA vs. Canada stand-up weekend, winner of the 2006 Seattle International Comedy Competition, and creator of the Vancouver Comedy Festival's Glossy Awards Show.

In addition to his numerous film and T.V. appearances, Damonde also wrote, produced and starred in the film Comedy Club, nominated for best picture at the 2000 Reel Madness Comedy Film Festival.

Lately, Tscritter shot a new pilot in Los Angeles, has a new television show in the works that he can't talk about yet and he continues to performed around the country.

"And I bought a yacht," he said.

"I went on a walkabout, spent time going all across Canada looking around, went to Scotland to the Edinburgh Festival and then walked around Europe for a while then went to California for a month and wound up buying a yacht," he explained.

"A friend of a friend was selling his yacht that's docked at Marina del Rey and we rent it for $150 a night and people stay on it like they'd stay at a hotel. People come from all over the world to do this because it's right on Venice Beach where all those weightlifters do their thing -- like in the movies -- and it's at this really cool harbour. Yeah, so went down to talk about doing a project, met some new management people and came home with a yacht. That's how my summer went."

And thanks to Damonde's interesting life, audiences will get a bellyful of laughs next week.

The shows go Feb. 16 and 17 at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are at Nancy O's, 1261 Third Avenue, $20 includes a $5 food credit. Thursday is special for students who get two tickets for $30.
