Sound of Summer hits park Saturday

The sounds of the season will fill Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park today. It will sound a lot like laughter, cheering and rock 'n' roll.

The sounds of the season will fill Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park today. It will sound a lot like laughter, cheering and rock 'n' roll.

Mathias Rock, The Flying Machine, Phat Funk, Violent Night and The Statistics are all on the bill at the annual Sound of Summer outdoor music event.

The show is organized by an all-youth promotions team, with the intent of a one-day festival especially for the youth audience.

There will also be zombies, food vendors, informational booths and more.

The event is supported by the Prince George Community Foundation's Youth In Philanthropy committee, Tourism Prince George, the City of Prince George (through the Celebrate Prince George program) and the Northern Development Initiative Trust.

The free event gets underway at 5 p.m. and go into the evening.
