The White Spruce Chorus, the local group of Sweet Adelines International, is looking for new members.
This year the numbers of members has dwindled and the group is looking for singers to join, experienced or not. The group features a cappella women's harmony singing barbershop style. Ladies can try it out for eight weeks, getting vocal training and coaching with the music director, Kathy Pereira. After the eight weeks of training, they can invite family and friends to an evening showcasing their new-found talent.
The White Spruce City Chorus is active around town at special events, for community groups and seniors.
Any women interested in finding out about barbershop singing can come to rehearsals from Sept. 17 to Nov. 5 at the Studio 2880 complex, Jack Bryant Room, 2880-15th Ave. For more information, call 250-964-1016.
