If you're more of the Red Green mind set when it comes to home repair than a Mike Holmes mentality, this casting call could be for you and your duct tape bathtub caulking, and your linoleum clad wall.
Mountain Road Productions is producing an HGTV Canada Special, a one-hour program, to be hosted by Steve Patterson of CBC Radio's The Debaters.
"Our goal is to uncover great characters with a bizarre sense of home 'improvement'," said executive producer Tim Alp. "We are looking for houses filled with jerry-rigged solutions that are at complete odds with mainstream expectations."
The perfect home improver for this show is fun-loving and outgoing, and someone who doesn't take themselves too serious and just happens to have an outrageous attitude toward their unique do-it-yourself projects.
Not-so-handy homeowner submissions and nominations can be e-mailed to [email protected].
Include the following information:
1. The story behind the questionable home improvements;
2. Photos of each of the eccentric repairs;
3. A photo of you and a photo of the not-so-handy person you are nominating;
4. Your contact information.
As part of the special, each homeowner will have the opportunity to have our team of experts come in and for free renovate the space where the offending creative handiwork has been done.
