The Royal B.C. Museum in Victoria wants the residents of the province to contribute to the decision-making process when it comes to preserving history.

Right now the storage area of the museum is below sea-level and they are looking to create a building specifically made for them.

The museum offers a look at natural and social history to tell more stories about the people and the land. More than 350,000 visitors come through the door each year, showcasing an extensive collection that includes seven million objects and specimens, archival material that would stand 10 kilometres tall if stacked in a pile and five million photographs.

The museum staff will travel around the province holding meetings to consult with the public and will stop at The Exploration Place Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. to here the public's input.
