All Aboard the musical train.

First stop the Prince George Playhouse, final destination Smithers with stops in between for train station serenades.

The Prince George Cantata Singers, an adult choir, will perform popular favourites encouraging singing along and toe tapping as they take the audience down the track as the Lion Sleeps Tonight, on the Chattanooga Choo Choo, with the Dancing Queen.

The Playhouse performance takes place Friday, Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m.

"We're going on a journey through popular music, folk, blues," said Evelyn Lee, president of the Cantata Singers. "We're going to have a sing along segment because we've had a number of concerts where people have said 'I can hardly keep my mouth closed when you're singing that song and I really wanted to sing along' so we're going to try to get them all aboard by having them sing with us. So, that'll be fun."

After the Friday night concert, the choir will board a Via Rail train Saturday morning.

"Singing all the way to Smithers, of course," said Lee. "We promised the Via Rail people that we will serenade people on the platform if the train stops for more than three minutes. So, that should be lots of fun."

In Smithers the Local Vocals, the community choir, will be joining the 45 Cantata Singers during the show at the Della Herman Theatre with special guest guitarist Jim Coyle and music director Damian Dorschner.

"It's going to be so much fun, I can hardly wait," said Lee.

This is a first for the fun-loving choir, she added.

There will be performances from just the men, just the ladies and a combination of both featuring songs like Blue Skies, Frobisher Bay, Both Sides Now, Sentimental Journey, Africa and so many more, Lee said.

Tickets for the Prince George performance are at Studio 2880, 2820-15th Avenue and Mountain Eagle Books in Smithers. Adults $18 and seniors /students $15.
