Local reggae band Foam Mesh Press will perform double duty next Thursday and Friday, performing at Nancy O's and Art Space respectively.

The band has been together for a decade but only started performing regularly a couple of years ago. They seem to be on a roll lately, touring during the summer, hitting a couple of music festivals and playing in town twice a month.

Ryan "The Wigger" Latchman, vocals and rhythm guitar, Jeff "The Rainmaker" Rainville, lead guitar and vocals, Robin "The Hood" Miller, bass and Max "Tri-Tone" Jones, drums and vocals, are Foam Mesh Press.

"We do mostly originals and we reggae-fy some covers - you know, turn a cover into a reggae song," Jones explained.

"I think we've got a pretty good sound. People seem to like it - young people and old people. It's a mellow vibe and danceable."

The band is hoping to get a tour going this summer that will take them into the Okanagan.

In the meantime Prince George can party with them at Nancy O's Dec. 22 at 9 p.m. $10 at the door.

On Dec. 23 Foam Mesh Press Foam Mesh Press will be performing at Art Space at 10 p.m. with Frosty Beats opening the how at 8 p.m. Tickets in advance at Books & Co., 1685 Third Avenue, $15, $20 at the door.
