Family Fun Day at the Railway and Forestry Industry Museum on Saturday will see visitors enjoy live music, have their faces painted, ride the mini rail and have a chance to see what it's like to drive a train.

"This is our sixth annual Family Fun Day," said Ranjit Gill, executive director of the Central BC Railway and Forestry Museum. "This is the last hurrah before school starts so it would be fun to have the kids come out."

Children will make crafts, like clothes-pin dolls and engineer hats, and there will be live entertainment by Said Dog, a duo that plays progressive roots rock music.

Guests can ride on the mini rail and CN Rail will bring a train simulator so everyone can see what it's like to operate a train. Firefighters are bringing their fire truck and an emergency vehicle for children to explore and there's a concession for lunch and a pancake breakfast for purchase.

"There's free admission with a donation to the food bank," said Gill. "We're trying to stock up the food bank for kids when they're going to school."

Family Fun Day goes from 10 a.m. to

3 p.m. at 850 River Road. For more information visit www.pgrfm.bc.ca.
