Shine up your truck, drop the tailgate, open your ears to a live backroad soundtrack, and crack open some sudsy PWB throat polish.
Prince George's bastion of beer, Pacific Western Brewing Company - with its lines of Pacific, Scandal and Cariboo plus stand-alone flavours and delicious history - is one of Canada's biggest and oldest craft brewing operations.
To say thank you to their hometown of Prince George, they are setting up a stage and opening their gates to the trucks of the city. This weekend, you're invited to their open house and tailgate party.
The first event happens Friday at
6:30 p.m.
It's part pickup truck show 'n' shine and part dance. Country-rock bands Rod Black and Chris Buck Band are spinning their tires until 10 p.m.
Tickets are $20, cash bar, and 19-plus are the key points to know.
"Chris Buck Band sold out Cariboo House (the Canada Winter Games party house) and PWB was so impressed they wanted him back for an encore," said Citizen Special Events co-organizer Norm Coyne.
"On the Friday night, he and Rod Black will be throwing down some live country music, Dodge will be supplying trucks to make it an authentic tailgate party, and Cariboo will be supplying the cold beer."
Call 250-640-6670 to talk about advance tickets. Then on Saturday, PWB opens the doors for an all-ages family day.
It runs from 1 to 5 p.m., free of charge, with hotdogs, a barbecue, tours of the factory, age-appropriate beer tastings and DJ Ant spinning tunes.
