One of country music's reigning kings is coming to Prince George.
Brad Paisley is an A-list singer/songwriter in the current Nashville crop with songs that touch the heart, tickle the funny-bone, and demonstrate a sharp wit.
His current single River Bank scored a career-high opening week at radio and is from his forthcoming August 26 album release. That album will be red hot when Paisley arrives in P.G. for a CN Centre concert on Oct. 6.
Paisley also got his start in the country music business as a highly sought-after guitar player at the side of established stars. His smooth voice and slick songwriting skills led him into his own spotlight over time.
Among his biggest hits are the comical tunes Me Neither, Alcohol, I'm Gonna Miss Her (The Fishin' Song), and many others. His serious side has put songs like Whiskey Lullaby and When I Get Where I'm Going up the charts and onto the awards show red carpets. He has even won two Grammy Awards for instrumentals with ditties he entitled Cluster Puck and Throttleneck.
Paisley was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2001. He has duetted famously with Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Dolly Parton, Allan Jackson, Alison Krauss, and even non-country collaborators like LL Cool J and Buddy Guy. His list of openly supportive celebrity friends include everyone from Jason Alexander to William Shatner to Jerry Springer to Jason Alexander and culminated in his selection to perform at the White House in 2009 for President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.
He has 22 total No. 1 hits, and more than 30 tracks that have broken into the Top 10. He set a record for 10 singles in a row to reach No. 1 on the Billboard country charts.
