Marianas Trench will be rolling into Prince George on Nov. 1 to start up their fall Canadian Tour.

One of Canada's most admired and radiolicious pop-punk bands is coming to Prince George.

Rather, they are coming back to Prince George. Marianas Trench had such a strong P.G. debut when they were here on the Face the Music: With a Vengence tour that the band has booked another date at CN Centre. They'll be here Nov. 1 to kick off their national Last Crusade Tour.

The 15-date tour will showcase new material from their latest release. It's entitled Astoria and is the band's fourth studio album. The band considers it a creative conglomeration "which echoes one part 1980s fantasy adventure film and one part classic Marianas Trench. It honours classic coming of age stories, and reflects on frontman Josh Ramsay's own personal journey that took him from the highest high to the darkest point in his life and career.

"This album is about completely falling to pieces, and picking yourself back up again," Ramsay explained. "We took the hardest two years of my life and made it into something beautiful, and our best work to date."

That's a bold claim. Marianas Trench has become a staple Canadian rock act on the strength of consistent pop-punk hits like the smash hit Fallout, the chart-climber Haven't Had Enough, and the quirk-popular Stutter. Their work has garnered multiple SOCAN and MMVA Awards, No. 1 videos on MuchMusic, multiple Juno Award nominations (they won the 2013 Juno for Group of the Year) and add in that Ramsay also received a Grammy nomination in 2013 for co-writing and producing Carly Rae Jepsen's international mega-smash Call Me Maybe.

They are radio darlings, video darlings, but most of all they are stage darlings. Joining the band on this latest tour is Canadian singer/songwriter Shawn Hook who was born and raised in British Columbia.

"Shawn's musical journey has proven that he is an emotive and soulful singer," said a statement from the band. "His live performances are equally as impressive, showcasing his remarkable depth and vocal range."

Recently, Hook performed with Hailee Steinfeld at the 2016 iHeartRadio Much Music Video Awards. His latest album, Analog Love, spawned the platinum-seller single Sound Of Your Heart among other audience favourites.

VIP tickets to the concert went on sale Wednesday. General admission ticket sales kick off on Friday at 10 a.m. at CN Centre box office and via Ticketmaster online services. Go to www.marianastrench.net for more info on their tour, tickets, and all band news.
