Les Miserables, a French historical novel by Victor Hugo, first published in 1862, is widely considered one of the greatest novels of the nineteenth century.
Judy Russell presents the musical, Les Miserables, at the Prince George Playhouse this coming summer.
"I have been waiting for this show for at least 20 years!" an ecstatic Judy Russell exclaimed. "Ever since I saw Les Miserables starring Colm Wilkinson at The Queen Elizabeth Theatre in the early 90s, I have had my ear to the ground waiting to hear the moment it was available to be presented by an amateur company."
That day finally came a few short weeks ago.
"We will be auditioning the end of January and are hoping to work the music before we start staging," said Russell. "I am anticipating a large cast between 35 and 50 singer/actors."
The show dates are July 16 to August 3.
