Don't let the winter blahs get you down. It's Time to Laugh Again at the Elder Citizens Recreation Association as their drama club brings another show filled with hilarious skits.

Carol and Jack Tremblay joined the club recently and they love how supportive the members of the group are towards one another.

"People think pretty young around here," said Carol, despite what outsiders might think about the members at a seniors centre.

The Tremblays started their membership by volunteering for a number of fundraisers to keep busy.

"We're not bowlers, or serious card players so it had to be drama for us," said Carol. "So there we were and when we messed up our lines they all just laughed with us. It's really a good group."

Carol and Jack are in a skit together in this show, called Golf Cart Accident, with a lot of laughs as Carol takes on the role of femme fatale and even a twist of a ba-dum-dum ending.

There's The Three Bears, with Jack as Papa Bear, and Carol is in a lip-syncing sequined musical skit with Odelia Kranz, and Jack is a church painter in another.

"There's quite a few rehearsals and what we really love is when someone is doing a skit on stage everyone watches and laughs every week, and applauds after each skit - are you kidding me?!? They are all just so kind," said Carol, who especially sings the praises of organizer Marlene Wenschlag, who makes it all happen. "And it gets to the point where we all could do each other's skits, almost."

There's about 20 people in the drama club and the Country Cuzzins will provide music for the show.

"We were both so nervous during our first show, this fall," said Jack. "I couldn't even get my line out but when somebody goofs everybody just laughs. We've really relaxed and gotten used to it and we really enjoy it."

Time to Laugh Again goes at ECRA, 1692 Tenth Ave., today at 7 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 years and under and available at the ECRA office or call 250-561-9381 or get tickets at the door.
