It's the last theatre sports of the season as Improv Ad Nauseum is presented at Twisted Cork, 101-1157 Fifth Ave. on Saturday at 7 p.m.
There's a core group of a dozen actors available at any given event and organizer Bas Rynsewyn hopes to have a full roster, which is eight or more ready to perform.
"I like to call it fully competitive improvisational theatre comedy," said Rynsewyn. "We will be enacting skits based on the suggestions from the audience and each one of those skits will have a twist. If you think it's going to be serious theatre, you'd be entirely wrong."
There's some audience participation during the show.
"I ask for volunteer judges, who score the skits," said Rynsewyn, of Serious Moonlight Productions. "I also have a scorekeeper and, of course, I try to keep it a family show, so I get someone from the audience to act as police officer so nothing untoward happens -- not that anybody really cares."
A night can bring between 10 and 15 skits to the stage.
"It's a full night," said Rynsewyn. Regular actors that participate include Mark Wheeler, Scott McKay, Vivian Johnson, Charles Bala, and Steph St. Laurent. With Johnson's imminent departure from Prince George, Rynsewyn said the group is always looking for some female influence to balance out the soon-to-be all-male cast.
"It's funnier if we have women in the cast," said Rynsewyn. "Although, as improvisers, if we have a female role, we'll give it to one of the men and that makes for some fun, too."
