Canuck-loving carpenter Clayton is in for a little action on Home Ice, the next play for Theatre North West's high-scoring season Nov. 17 to Dec. 4.

This James O'Shea play is best described as Holmes on Homes meets Coaches' Corner.

Clayton loves his wife Vera and wants to prove it by renovating their kitchen just as the Canucks make the playoffs.

Vera is expecting the couple's first baby as she's about to defend her master's thesis on visual art. Clayton faces off against the kitchen reno, while not wanting to miss even one hockey game, as he supports his wife through pregnancy and higher education. Realizing this could be too much of a challenge for him, he recruits his pal Martin to help with the play-by-play but this team needs all the help it can get. And what about the mysterious commentator situated in Clayton and Vera's living room?

Theatre fans will be cheering as they watch this play, no matter how they feel about Canada's favourite winter sport.

Game on at Theatre North West in Parkhill Centre. Tickets are available at Books & Company or call 250-614-0039.
