Halloween events abound this weekend

The Prince George Library is hosting two stars of True Blood, Jim Parrack, who plays Hoyt and Kristin Bauer, who plays Pam during the Hot Blooded Ball, a fundraiser to make improvements at the Bob Harkins branch of the library. The event takes place Friday at the Ramada Hotel. Tickets are $80 each and can be purchased at both branches of the library or with a credit card online at the library's brand-new website at www.lib.pg.bc.ca through PayPal or by calling 250-563-9251 or 250-962-9710.

YMCA Spooktacular invites little ghouls and goblins to celebrate Halloween Friday at 2020 Massey Drive with great games, tasty treats and awesome prizes. Children from three to five can attend from 9 to 11 a.m. and ages six to 12 can attend from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Cost is $3 per child. Halloween Haunt at the Central British Columbia Railway & Forest Industry Museum Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. Dress up for a safe and spooky afternoon. Ride the ghost train and dare to explore the haunted sleeper cars, spooky Penn Station and the Witch's Lair. This event is for children of all ages and admission is free with a non-perishable food donation to the Salvation Army Food Bank.

Pumpkin Patch Family Storytime at the public library, 87 Dominion Street Saturday at 11:30 a.m. for children five and under. Dress up in your favourite costume and join us for gentle Halloween songs and stories. Then for the six and older crowd there's Storytime: Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark at 1 p.m. Put on your favourite costume and drop in to the library for some seriously scary stories and Halloween activities. Guy Fawkes Halloween dance at Summit Lake Community Hall on Adams Road Saturday. Bonfire at 7 p.m., fireworks at 8 and burning of the Guy. Dancing starts at 8:15 p. featuring Jonah Borden's Fiddle Band. Everyone, including families, welcome. Tickets $10 each or $25 per family.

Improv Ad Nauseum's Curse of Halloween Show Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Twisted Cork, 1157 Fifth Avenue, presented by Serious Moonlight Productions. In addition to the improvised theatre comedy show there are prizes for the best and worst costume, best couples costume, grossest and least expensive. Second Annual Interactive Rocky Horror Picture Show at UNBC Canfor Theatre, 3333 University Way on Monday at 8 p.m. presented by the Northern Pride Centre Society and and Northern Medical Program medical students. Two Rivers Gallery presents Menagerie, A Night To Let It Out, will be held Saturday at the gallery. This is a fundraiser for the gallery programs. Dress up and stylishly embrace the Halloween season, filling an evening with music, dancing, and drink, with spontaneous performances by musicians, dancers, jugglers and more.
