Two celebrated local musician siblings are getting together again, after years of no public performances. Buddy Gouchie and his sister Kym Gouchie are going to be sharing the Shiraz Cafe stage on Saturday night.
"Come and witness this first-time-ever collaboration between brother and sister," said Kym. "I think its the beginning of many. So awesome."
Kym has spent most of the past 25 years living outside the area. She was back to perform for the Canada Winter Games. She has made a career working with notable musicians like Sandy Scofield, The Persuasions and others. In 2014 she released her debut album Mountain Of Youth.
Buddy has been winning talent shows since the age of 8. He has been a touring musician and band leader most of his life and, according to his sister, "He can raise the hair on the back of your neck and bring tears to your eyes with his incredible music."
They are only missing their other brother Mike Gouchie, who found his way onto Canada's country charts in recent years after similarly being raised on music.
Kym and Buddy take the Shiraz stage at 7:30 p.m.
