One of Canada's top blues performers, David Gogo will do an acoustic solo concert Saturday night at the Kinsmen Complex.
Gogo is one of the hardest working blues-rock guitarists in Canada, said promoter Earl Krushelnicki of EGK Promotions.
Gogo just won the 2012 Western Canadian Music Award for best blues CD, for his eleventh release called Soul Bender.
Gogo has earned four Juno nominations, the Saturday Night Blues' Great Canadian Blues Award for a lifetime contribution to the blues in Canada, WCMA Musician of the Year, and has twice been named Maple Blues Guitarist of the Year in Canada.
During his career Gogo has performed with blues and rock legends B.B. King, Bo Diddley, George Thorogood, including twice in Prince George, and ZZ Top. Most recently, he toured with Johnny Winter on Canada's west coast.
Opening for Gogo is local singer Page Marriott , who was a 2012 Prince George Idol finalist.
Tickets are $25 each and are at Books & Co., 1685 Third Avenue.
Doors at the Kinsmen Community Complex, 777 Kinsmen Place open at 7:30 p.m. Marriott takes to the stage at 8 p.m., Gogo starts at 8:30.
