The Knowledge Network, B.C.'s public broadcaster, is hitting the road for 18 months and will be visiting Prince George at the end of June to offer a variety of events for the public to attend.

The Knowledge Network, B.C.'s public broadcaster, is hitting the road for 18 months and will be visiting Prince George at the end of June to offer a variety of events for the public to attend.

Rudy Buttignol, president and CEO of the Knowledge Network will present Inspiring Change - the value of independent thinking. Coffee, tea and dessert will be provided by the Knowledge Network. This event is open to the public and you will need to bring a bagged lunch.

Another event hosted by the Prince George and District Arts Council will be a Brown Bag Lunch presentation on Monday, June 27 at 1 p.m. at Studio 2880, 2880-15th Avenue.

Later that evening at 7 p.m. at the Prince George Playhouse the Knowledge Network presents a free public screening and art exhibit called 5ifty.

The 5ifty is a collection of short films on leading artists, performers, designers, living and working in British Columbia, featuring Sarah McLachlin, Douglas Coupland, Dan Mangan, Fred Herzog, Ian Tracey, Alex Cuba, Shane Koyczan and many more.

On Tuesday, June 28 at 2 p.m. the Knowledge Network will host a donor reception at the Ramada Hotel where people who support the public broadcasting station will have a chance to meet with Rudy Buttignol, president and CEO of the Knowledge Network.

The Filmmaker's Roundtable, hosted by the Knowledge Network and the Northern B.C. Film/Tourism office, will take place at the Ramada Hotel Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. This will be an opportunity for those interested in filmmaking to meet with Rudy Buttignol to share thoughts, questions and concerns with fellow filmmakers. Participants will also have the opportunity to speak to Buttignol, who will pass on his knowledge about the documentary industry in Canada on the topics of filmmaking, funding, pitching projects, acquisitions and more. During the Prince George Chamber of Commerce Speaker Series at the Ramada Hotel, June 29 at 11:30 a.m. join Rudy Buttignol as he explores the value that independent thinking has played in his life as a spectator, student, entrepreneur, advocate, producer and broadcaster. In the face of economic uncertainty, globalization and technological advances, independent thinking becomes all the more important for business and community leaders to seize new opportunities and inspire change. Cost of the luncheon are $23, plus HST for chamber members, $28 plus HST for future members.
