We Go Together is the theme of this year's Performers North fundraising event and it is the feature number for the large dance ensemble, reviving the ever-popular musical Grease.

"We will be doing a whole Grease medley with all the kids taking part," said Judy Russell, director of Performers North, the competitive troupe based at her Encha"nement Dance Centre.

"And then we also do a really broad variety of a lot of the fantastic pieces that we worked up for competitions. We created 85 group pieces for the Prince George Dance Festival. We can't do them all in one night, but we can do a big bunch of them. A lot of the kids did well at festival, so we have some highlights to show the public."

The whole Performers North cast (about 60 dancers) will be involved in the We Go Together event, along with more than 20 special guest dancers.

All the money raised goes to support the troupe attending the Prince Rupert Dance Festival, always the prime competition in northern B.C. each year.

"We are getting ready to take almost 80 numbers to Prince Rupert. It is May 8th and runs eight days," Russell said.

The fundraising variety show happens on Sunday at Vanier Hall. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., showtime is 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 each, available in advance from the Encha"nement Dance Centre or any member of the Performers North cast.
