There's a pair of tall-tale tellers coming to the Treasure Cove Showroom Saturday, April 14.

Brandon Isaak and Keith Picot, each musicians in their own right, have recently come together as a duo who make silent movies, a silly introductory video about the duo, and will perform a variety of blues, country, gospel, ragtime and swing during the show.

You're going to wonder if you can believe even one word coming out of their mouths.

"I met Brandon in Cape Canaveral working on the NASA II project," said Picot, a stand-up bass player. "I saw he had a bright future and a lot of intelligence."

Picot started playing the stand-up bass when he was a teenager.

He made his own instrument in metal and wood shop at school because he couldn't afford to buy one. He played his homemade stand-up bass in a band and he used it on his first record. (He swears it's true.)

He quit playing at 21, homesteaded until he was 28 when he got divorced and started to play again.

Isaak, also known as Yukon Slim in the Vancouver band The Twisters, just released his new solo album Bluesman's Plea.

The two came together just this year to tour.

They started making silent movies -- they've got eight now with more in the making -- and they're really proud of them.

"That's the problem with me and Brandon being on the road -- if we're not thinking of a new song, we're thinking about a set or a scene for the videos we're making," said Picot, who's renovating his house to resemble a 1800s era brothel. "We're never turn of our brains. We're always planning and creating. We're having tons of fun and we've been playing off and on together for about six or seven years and this is the first few months of playing as a duo."

During the show their silent movies will be playing on big screens behind them.

"People are going to have a lot of fun at the show," promised Picot. "We don't take ourselves seriously -- we take our music seriously, but not ourselves. The music is pretty relaxed. Brandon's solo show is all about the music and the songs but in between the songs we have a lot of laughs."

Tickets are $20 at Treasure Cove Service Desk. All seats reserved. Check out Isaak and Picot's video http://youtu.be/IWPHqYgLJUs or do an Internet search for 'Keith Picot silent movie' to check out their silent movies. For more information about the show visit www.brandonisaak.ca.
