One of radio rock's most famous names is takin' it to the Prince George streets. The Doobie Brothers owned the airwaves with mega-hits like The Doctor, China Grove, Rockin' Down the Highway, What A Fool Believes, Listen To the Music and many more. Classic rock stations sill melt the Doobie's wax.

They also owned the party stereos and concert stages. Known as much for their live presentation as their catchy hooks, these road warrior musicians are rolling into northern B.C. for the first time in their decades of pounding the pavement, leaving a tornado of pumping fists in their wake.

The Doobie Brothers were leaders of the power-vocal bands that brought rock, funk and touches of country and blues into a deep dish audiences gorged on throughout the late 1960s and '70s, and the sound still resonates with listeners. Peer groups include The Eagles, Hall and Oates, Michael McDonald (a member of the group for several years), Loggins and Messina, Boston, The Guess Who, Little River Band and more.

The Doobie Brothers piled up Grammy Awards, record sales (estimated at more than 40 million albums), and chart positions. Sixteen of their songs cracked the U.S. Top 40 and five of them broke into the Top 10.

Their layers of voices and focus on harmonies got them inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2004.

If you'd like to hear some funky Dixieland, pretty mama come and take me by the hand and head to the CN Centre on Oct. 24. Tickets are on sale now at CN Centre box office and Studio 2880 for $49, $64, and $79 (plus applicable service charges).
