Unpublished authors 50 years and older are being welcome to enter this year's Cedric Literary Awards.
The deadline is May 1.
The juried writing competition offers $3,000 to the winners in each of four categories: fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry and First Nations writing. There are also categories for those who write prose and poetry in French.
Originally conceived and funded by Dr. Peter Dale, chair of Betterthan50, "the Cedrics" have been incorporated as a non-profit organization. The competition will go Canada-wide in 2017.
