A Fundraiser for Ukraine is offered by the Yalenka Ukrainian Cultural Society as the dancers perform for donations Thursday night at the Prince George Playhouse at 7 p.m.
All funds raised go to support those affected by the recent unrest in the Ukraine and will be sent to the Ukraine Civic Unrest Fund, organized by the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement in Ukraine.
"We represent the Ukraine in Prince George and we just want to do what we can to help those in need," said Deb McConnell, president of the Yalenka Dancers. "We're trying to make it an hour-long event so people don't have to be out too late. We're hoping the community will rally together, open up their hearts and cheque books and make us proud."
To entice audience members, there will be a live auction of many items, including homemade perogies and two tickets to the coveted Malanka, the Ukrainian New Year's Showcase.
Donations of $50 or more will be issued a tax receipt.
