Alex Cuba is very excited about his Art Space show Friday night at 8.

Not only is it his first time back in Prince George since winning the Latin Grammy for Best New Artist 2010, but it will also be the first chance for him to preview some new tunes from his upcoming album to be released in Spring 2012.

The singer songwriter from Cuba now resides in Smithers. Cuba creates sweet melodies, pop-soul hooks and rock chords that offer a cross-cultural sound that mirrors his geographical journey. He has won two Juno awards in 2006 and 2008 and a SOCAN Award in 2009.

Cuba has had four iTunes Singles of the Week in Canada, U.S., Japan and Netherlands, and independently built an impressive, loyal online community around the world.

Cuba performs at Art Space, above Books & Co., 1685 Third Avenue Friday. Tickets are $30 at Books & Co., or at the door.
