Corb Lund and the Hurtin' Albertans will be touring through the region in May.

Canadian country music star Corb Lund does not have a Prince George date on his current schedule, but dates announced on Monday bring him close to the area.

Lund is the bestselling writer and performer of such hits as Truck Got Stuck, Five Dollar Bill, I Wanna Be In the Cavalry, Roughest Neck Around, Hair In My Eyes Like A Highland Steer, and many others.

He and his band The Hurtin' Albertans have won six Western Canadian Music Awards, five Canadian Country Music Awards, and a Juno (plus various nominations from the United States, Australia and France, among others). They have successfully straddled the audience line of traditional country music, modern country, and yet also roped in folk and adult alternative fans as well.

Lund will perform at the Gibraltar Room in Williams Lake on May 9, at the Senior Centre in Quesnel on May 10 and at the Royal Canadian Legion in Jasper on May 15.
