Chinese New Year celebrated with CNC students

To celebrate 2014, year of the horse, the College of New Caledonia international students will host an event Saturday night at the First Baptist Church, 483 Gillett St..

"The students will hold an amazing Chinese buffet and an evening of performances on Saturday at 5 p.m.," said Tony Mei, CNC international operations assistant. "There will be a pianist, a number of singers and a few surprises we're still working on. I can say that all performances will be different than what you might expect."

The meal will be buffet style, provided by China Cup Restaurant.

The master of ceremonies will provide cultural information featuring the history of Chinese New Year and traditions throughout the evening.

Raffles and door prizes include an iPad Mini, and Monster headphones.

Tickets are available at the International dducation dept. for $19 for adults, $18 for students and $10 for those 10 years and younger.
