An international specialist in blue-on-white painting will be in Prince George for a lecture in this craft. Huang Fei from Jingezhen, China will demonstrate and discuss blue-on-white at a free lecture tonight at 7.
"He currently paints largely on tiles, but also does traditional Chinese calligraphy on paper," said local artist Karen Heathman, involved in organizing Fei's local appearance.
She said Fei's latest project is "a photographic exhibition of traditional ceramic craftsmanship" he entitled In Praise Of Hands. He will talk about the processes involved in this exhibition, his life in China and his development as an artist during this public event.
Fei will be hosted at Studio 2880 in the Jack Bryan Room.
