More than $200,000 in grants from the BC Arts Council (BCAC) has come to support arts and culture in Prince George.
The lion's share went to the Two Rivers Gallery (Prince George Regional Art Gallery Association/Two Rivers Gallery) including $60,000 for operating costs, and $38,400 for special projects.
The Fraser-Fort George Regional Museum Society that runs Exploration Place got $62,000, Theatre North West received $16,500, the Community Arts Council of Prince George & District got $21,158 while Kenneth Belford and Caitlin Nicholson got grants for $10,000 and $5,000, respectively, in arts awards for creative writing.
The BCAC offered $8.36 million to arts and culture organizations and individual throughout the province. Funding was provided by the provincial government.
Funding allotment is decided by an independent peer review process.
