Creative types who are looking to explore product photography, artistic imaging, setting up podcasts and getting into graphic design with a full adobe creative suite to utilize can get in on the orientation sessions at Arts North Digital Centre.
“During these orientation sessions people can dip their toes in,” Christina Watts, Studio 2880 Gallery & Gift Shoppe coordinator, said. “They will learn how to utilize the space and the equipment. They can come in with their questions and these sessions will get them off and running on marketing themselves or doing a creative digital project.”
These sessions are free for members of the Prince George & District Community Arts Council and memberships are $30.
Each session can accommodate up to eight people and will offer the opportunity to get hands-on with equipment and staff can also answer all their questions.
“I think this is really good for artisans, artists and creators because they so desperately need to market themselves in an online world,” Watts said. “It’s a major asset to be able to have access to equipment like product photo boxes so they can take better photos of their work and if they need digital assets all the software is here. They don’t have to spend thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours trying to learn all this on their own. This facility is there for them.”
Watts said organizations can also use the Arts North Digital Studio, not just individuals.
“This is just a really laidback way to ease into these areas that might seem so daunting to those who are inexperienced,” Watts said. “This way they can come in and be supported.”
