For three days, almost two dozen events will showcase behind-the-scenes action, artistic options, new directions and traditional ways, during Culture Days in Prince George today through Sunday.

This is the third year for the event in Prince George, with more events and organizations involved than ever before.

"Culture Days is to celebrate our cultural organizations, our creative people and to make residents aware of what they do, so a lot of it focuses on behind the scenes," said Carolyn Holmes, public programs manager at Two Rivers Gallery and an organizer of the event.

Check out the vaults at The Exploration Place, go backstage at Theatre North West, and sit in on a rehearsal with Nove Voce choir.

"So it's not so much to see the finished product but to see people in the process -- creative people at work," said Holmes. "So those are things you don't often get the opportunity to see but it lets you understand how these great productions and exhibitions all come together."

Two Rivers Gallery is hosting Out of the Suitcase Theatre Company on Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

"It's all about you participating and all ages are welcome," said Holmes. "You can make your own shadow puppets and you can contribute to the display that will be set up. The Prince George Symphony Orchestra will present The Art of Music concert Sunday at the gallery from 2 to 4 p.m.

"So that's demonstrating how organizations can come together to put on an event," said Holmes. "The PGSO's core musicians will be playing in the main gallery and then people are invited to come upstairs and make their own little diddly-bo -- a little guitar."

The Groop Gallery and the Prince George Public Library are also offering a variety of activities.
