Add a little art to your life

Some nooks and crannies still need art to fulfill them. Some budgets can only handle small-sized investments. Art can be huge no matter what its physical size.

Some budgets can only handle small-sized investments.

Art can be huge no matter what its physical size.

The Prince George Community Arts Council can't promise what the final price will be at their next event, but they do promise the works themselves will be no bigger than six inches by six inches.

Each year the CAC presents the show and sale entitled The Best Damn Little Art Auction Ever featuring only works that are six-by-six or smaller.

The 2016 edition will be held April 22 downtown at Dreamland School of the Arts (1010 Fourth Ave).

On Thursday, the CAC officially opened the creative doors to artists. They issued the call for this year's art submissions.

"Calling all student artists, emerging artists and professionals alike. We want you," said a written statement by the CAC. Submissions can be made in any medium.

Each artist can submit up to three works to this unjuried event.

Any artist interested in participating is asked to send an email of inquiry to Sue Frizzell at [email protected] to get complete details.

Art intake will happen on April 15-16 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Studio 2880's artisan gift shop.

The event is a fundraiser for the local arts agency and for the participating artists in equal measure.

Whatever the final sale price is after the silent auction is complete that evening, half the pledge goes to the CAC and the other half to the artist.

Unsold works will be returned to the artist.
