Aaron Pritchett entertained a sold out crowd at CN Centre in 2008. He'll be here again during the Canada Winter Games, performing at Cariboo House on Feb. 27.

During the Canada Winter Games you can cap off each week with a Canadian Country Friday at Cariboo House, the downtown party spot in the heart of the Games Village.

The first Friday will feature Julian Austin, the opening night big name on Feb. 13. That concert was already announced. But today, the organizers of Cariboo House (a collaboration between Citizen Special Events, Heartbreakers Nightclub and Pacific Western Brewing) are announcing the other two acts ready to kick up snowdust. They are the Chris Buck Band and Aaron Pritchett.

Austin is from the east coast, representing the people coming from all over the nation to P.G. in only a couple of weeks. He is a rough and ready athlete himself (rodeo!) and represents the good-time, active, on-the-land lifestyle Canada has always been linked to.

Buck's band is based in Vancouver but comprised of many regions, representing the whole shared B.C. experience. As the reigning B.C. Country Music Association champion for country club acts, they bring the Canadian commitment to living loud and proud.

Pritchett, the biggest name of them all, brings the heartbeat of the Games, the spirit of northern British Columbia. Pritchett is from Skeena territory - Kitimat, Terrace - and is one of the biggest entertainment names the region has ever produced, with his Canadian Country Music Award trophies (more than a dozen nominations over the years, in some of the most prestigious categories), his many videos on CMT and hits on radio, and a pair of Juno Award nominations.

Pritchett sends the Canada Winter Games home on high note, bringing an eight-piece band to blow the doors off Cariboo House on Feb. 27, only two days shy of the closing ceremonies. His show is a special presentation of Northland Dodge.

Advance tickets to each Cariboo House concert (every night a different act during the entire Canada Winter Games run) are available online only, through the www.eventbrite.com website (find Prince George on their map for all P.G. eventbrite listings). Tickets will be available at the door each night, but the strategic Cariboo House location makes a straight run of sellouts highly possible.
