Safety alert: B.C.-wide recall of vegetable spread due to 'pieces of glass'

Cedar Phoenicia brand Pindjur Vegetable Spread has been recalled and was sold inĀ Alberta, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Ontario, and Quebec.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) warns that a brand of vegetable spread sold in several provinces has been recalled due to the possibility there are pieces of glass inside the food. 

A safety notification issued Thursday (Feb. 2) states that Cedar Phoenicia brand Pindjur Vegetable Spread has been recalled from the marketplace and was sold in Alberta, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Ontario, and Quebec.

The product was sold in 500-millilitre containers and has a best-before date of Aug. 24, 2024. The UPC code is 0 62356 50221 8 and it also has the L 21231 EU code. 

Consumers should immediately stop using this product. Retailers should stop selling it immediately.
