A call about a person with a firearm took Vanderhoof RCMP to a home on Fourth Street in the community in the afternoon of June 22.
Police quickly identified a suspect and made an arrest, taking a man into custody without incident. There were no reported injuries.
During a later search, the police located and seized an imitation firearm, later determined to be a BB gun.
The suspect was later released by the court to appear at a future date and under numerous conditions, including to stay out of Vanderhoof.
Police say there's no risk to the public. The investigation is ongoing.
