It's looking a lot like winter up at Silver Star Mountain Resort.

Almost 25 centimetres of snow has fallen at SilverStar Mountain Resort in the last 24 hours, and the fluffy powder continues to fall, says the resort's Chantelle Deacon.

"It feels like you are inside of a snow global up here on the mountain," says Deacon. "It looks like a winter wonderland ... it's getting us very excited for the ski season!"

The snow base is currently 46 cm, but with more expected to fall throughout the day and again into the weekend, management is expecting that number to grow to more than 50 cm.

"As exciting as all this snow is, we want to remind the public that we are not yet open for the winter season," Deacon says. "We continue to operate equipment around the mountain in preparation of the season and there are many unmarked hazards about."

SilverStar's Nordic opening is set for Nov. 15 and the alpine opening for Nov.28.
