Two of the biggest names in pop-punk are headed to Kamloops.

The Offspring and Sum 41 have booked a date at the Sandman Centre for Dec. 2. Kamloops is part of a cross-Canada tour starting Nov. 12 in Halifax.

The two bands each strung up hit songs for more than a decade, with millions of albums sold, notably The Offspring's 1994 release Smash, which sold 15 million albums worldwide. While they don't always top the mainstream charts, both bands often showed up on modern rock charts.

Hits from Sum 41 include "Fat Lip," "Pieces" and "Underclass Hero," while the Offspring's repertoire includes a number of songs still heard on the radio today, like "Self Esteem," "Original Prankster" and the massive "Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)." Essentially, if you went to junior high or high school in the late '90s or early 2000s, these bands were a part of your soundtrack at school.

Both bands are still active and have released albums in the last couple of years.

The tour also includes opening band Dinosaur Pile-Up, a British rock band from Leeds best known for the fairly straight forward rock song "11:11."

Tickets for the show go on pre-sale Aug. 20 (tomorrow). They'll be available to the general public Aug. 23, on Ticketmaster.
