A man known to the police and courts is back in custody, this time in connection with a spate of break and enters into vehicles in Quesnel.
Gordon Wilfred Pagens, 30, has been charged with possessing stolen property and breaching an undertaking and remains in custody on a detention order as of Wednesday, according to court records.
Pagens has a lengthy criminal record for offences committed in Prince George and Quesnel.
Quesnel RCMP said in a statement issued Tuesday that Pagens was arrested after several videos posted on local social media pages allegedly showed him stealing from vehicles during the night time hours over the preceding month.
Police said several stolen bank cards were found on Pagens.
A majority of the thefts were not reported to police, RCMP added, and urged the public to notify police regardless of how minor the theft may seem to be.
"Even if the theft is minor in nature, the reports help police to be able to tie other crimes in the area together to solve these ongoing issues. If you or someone you know have video of offences occurring in your neighbourhood, please share them with police as they can help in identifying suspects," Sgt. Clay Kronebusch said.
Minor offences can be reported online at http://report.rcmp.ca.
Quesnel RCMP are also urging the public to make sure they do not leave valuable items in their vehicles and lock your vehicle doors.
