Prince George RCMP seek "person of interest" in weekend stabbing

Prince George RCMP are looking for a "person of interest" after a man was stabbed Saturday night.

Police received multiple reports of people fighting in the parking lot near the 1400 block of Ahbau Street.

Officers arrived and found one man who had been stabbed several times. The victim was transported to the hospital where he received treatment for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

One suspect was caught shortly after with the help of a police dog. He was arrested on an outstanding warrant, taken to the RCMP detachment and later released.

The investigation is ongoing. There's someone else who may be connected in some way, police say.

Police officers have identified a person of interest in this investigation, whose image was taken from the surveillance at a nearby business," states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, media relations officer with the Prince George RCMP.

"We are requesting that anyone who recognizes the man in the photo contact an investigator by calling the Prince George RCMP non-emergency line. Investigators would like to speak with this individual as he may have information relating to this investigation.

Police said local businesses assisted in the investigation by providing available video surveillance.
