Pedestrian dragged 140 metres in B.C. hit-and-run

RCMP are investigating a hit-and-run early Wednesday morning that saw a 27-year-old B.C. man dragged nearly 140 metres.

Emergency crews responded to the incident in Burnaby near 14th Avenue and Newcombe Street just before 1 a.m.

Firefighters found a man with a shattered lower leg who had been struck by a vehicle and dragged nearly 140 metres, according to assistant fire Chief Gavin Summer.

The man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim and the suspect appear to have been known to each other, according to Burnaby RCMP.

The suspect vehicle is described as a black sedan.
